A simple yet interesting experience was shared with me a few years ago, from a person who was working in an office environment. He, like everybody else there, had the same routine. Go to the office in the morning, work, socialize with his coworkers, and go back home in the evening, tired and not in a very happy mood. The element of focus, in this story, is the socializing aspect. He shared that from the amount of free time they had to socialize, most of it was spent in backbiting the other coworkers or other people in general.
After some time, he joined a group of friends (not from his workplace) who together decided to study a material whose aim is to equip the participants with skills which will assist them to contribute to their personal growth and well-being (by refining their character, gradually learning to apply in their lives moral and spiritual values, such as: truthfulness, justice, cooperation, unity and more, as well as giving them the space to reflect on different aspects of life), as well as contributing to the betterment of society. One of the chapters of that material pointed out how harmful it is for human beings to backbite, and if you think about it, it is one of the obstacles from achieving unity since it creates discord among people.
So he decided to try and apply this in his work place. Next day, he goes to work, and shares his new understanding on the concept with his coworkers. After some time, he and the others noticed some changes that had occurred, like: Everybody was in a happier mood, the working environment became more friendly, and they could work more efficiently, hence increasing their productivity.

So, it's interesting, how this small detail actually had such an impact to the working space of that office, that it started transforming its environment.
